BEST TEAMS IN NFL HISTORY
1972-1973 Miami Dolphins
They went 14-0 in the regular season where they only had 3 close games. The rest they won by two possessions or more. Their best game was against the New England Patriots, where they beat them
52-0. They beat the Cleveland browns in the divisional round of the playoffs 20-14. They advanced to the conference championship against the Pittsburgh Steelers winning 21-17. They finally made it to the Superbowl against the Washington redskins and won their first Superbowl in franchise history. They are the only team to go undefeated for the whole season and win the Superbowl.
1990-1994 Buffalo Bills
They are the only team to go to 4 consecutive Superbowl's. They didn't win a single one of them, but it is still hard to go to 4 consecutive Superbowls. They lost their first Superbowl because their kicker missed a game winning field goal. In the next 3 superbowls they got blown out. But in those 4 years they went 58-19. They never lost more than 5 games in a season.
1973-1977 Minnesota Vikings
They went to 3 Superbowls in 4 years and went to one 3 years earlier. They never won one but went to 3 in 4 years. They played some great teams in those Superbowls. They had one of the best defenses of all time in those years they were called the purple people eaters.
1974-1976 Pittsburgh Steelers
They went to back to back Superbows and won both of them. In 1976 , they had the best rushing offense and highest scoring offense in the league and the best defense. They were called the Steel curtain. This was one of the best all around teams.
2007-2008 New England patriots
They are the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season, but the second team to have a undefeated regular season (the first being the dolphins). They had the best team offence and the best passing offence. That season got Tom Brady his first MVP. They only had 3 games that season that were within 5 points. In week 17 they beat the giants 38-35. They then took on the Jacksonville Jaguars and beat them pretty soundly 31-20. Then they faced the Chargers in the AFC championship game. The Patriots took care of them 21-12. Then took on the Giants in the Superbowl. The Giants beat them 17-14. If they had won, they would have been the only team to go 20-0 and win the Superbowl. They lost and that game was Eli Manning's first Superbowl win. It was Tom Brady's and Bill Belichick's first Superbowl loss
